What you'll do:
Veoneer is seeking an experienced EMC Engineer - Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) to join our automotive radar design team. This role contributes to our Veoneer Lowell Team throughout the design process, starting with providing input on designs before they are released, through to performing testing on hardware as it is available and working with the rest of the design team to implement any needed mitigation into the design.
- Serve as a member of the radar electrical design team, providing input to designs and design reviews to improve EMC performance for future designs
- Utilize experience with common EMC test equipment (EMI Receivers, antennas, amplifiers, etc.) to perform testing at our internal lab and oversee 3rd party testing labs when needed
- Become an expert in the EMC standards required by our customers, and ensure both internal and external testing is performed to the required standard (typically CISPR 25)
- When testing reveals failures, design experiments to determine root cause, and implement design changes to improve future performance
- Continuously improve EMC data collection and analysis methods and procedures to ensure reliable, repeatable data with minimal overhead
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
What you'll bring:
- BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- 5 or more years of experience conducting EMC measurements and experiments, including in-depth use of common equipment (EMI receivers, oscilloscopes, probes, antennas, amplifiers, etc.)
- Knowledge of common EMC issues and countermeasures
- Demonstrated ability to present EMC results to a wide variety of audiences, including external customers, both verbally and in writing
- Strong interest in EMC
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently
