What you'll do:

The Radar Signal Processing Engineer is responsible for providing technical insights to the Veoneer Radar signal processing team which includes contributors in the US and Europe. The team is responsible for the design, development, verification and testing of automotive radar embedded signal processing algorithms that are the cornerstone to the growing Veoneer Active Safety product portfolio. The ideal candidate should be a technical leader that identifies system concepts, algorithms that form the foundation for the next generation of radar products.  Innovation is important to maintain market leadership in a rapidly expanding market environment with major technological shifts on the horizon. A person in this role should also be a talented communicator with the ability to convey signal processing methodologies to internal and external customers. The ideal candidate should be self-starting with a ready willingness to originate solutions without being directed to do so.

·     Design and write simulations for cutting-edge radar signal processing algorithms in Matlab

·     Create presentations and document algorithms for sharing concepts with the team

·     Exhibit a detailed knowledge of radar system fundamentals and waveform processing

·     Contribute to the technical leadership of the organization which includes substantial input to R&D decisions

·        Possess strong fundamentals in radar waveforms, detection link budget analysis, processing and tracking algorithms

·        Implement detection level and/or tracker algorithms using Matlab and/or C

·        Perform analysis on regression data to debug and optimize system detection and/or tracking performance

·        Support software development team for adapting algorithms to operate efficiently on fixed and/or floating-point DSPs

·        Ensure requirement compliance and timeliness for radar platform development efforts

·        Process improvement participation which includes definition and execution of Improvement projects which meet or exceed compliance with overall organizational objectives

·        Compliance with Veoneer Standards and Business Conduct Requirements Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:

• MS or PHD in Electrical Engineering plus related work experience in Radar Signal Processing or Digital Signal Processing that targets embedded real–time software system applications.
• Strong oral and written communication

What is good to have:

• C and/or assembly programming of DSPs and micro-controllers.
• Software development of computationally intensive algorithms for fixed point DSPs.
• Experience in the Automotive industry a plus
• Experience with CMMI or ASPICE
• Configuration management and version control experience
