What you'll do:
Our Associate System Architect Engineer is a technical leadership position that is responsible for defining and communicating a technical and architectural roadmap to ensure the radar development achieves the critical product objectives. The solution is to be in accordance to relevant automotive standards, internal standards global regulatory standards and customer specific requirements. The Associate System Architect/Engineer is responsible for the technical coordination and contributing to the architecture definition, requirements development, performance analysis, signal processing algorithms design, verification and validation of the system design, as well as providing support to the hardware and software development. This job requires interaction with radar design, validation, and production team members that are globally located and may require travel to other Veoneer and/or customer sites to support test and/or demonstration efforts.
- Participate in the planning, definition and high-level design of the radar and exploration of alternative solutions.
- Define radar system architectural components, interfaces, requirements with allocation to components, functions and expected behaviors.
- Participates in the synchronization of HW, SW and radar signal processing teams to ensure consistency of designs and tradeoffs using coaching and questioning to steer the teams to an integrated solution.
- Identify project risks, development mitigation plans and ensure timely completion of actions.
- Radar system performance analysis and modeling that includes: antennae, receiver, transmitter, waveform, signal processing, tracking, environmental effects
- Support requirements analysis, requirement allocation, traceability, verification methods
- Radar test data analysis and support of performance verification
- Develop Documentation including models, analysis, test report, trouble reports, etc.
- Compliance with Veoneer Standards and Business Conduct Requirements
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
What you'll bring:
- MS Electrical Engineering, or Physics/Math with demonstrated skills in some of the above mentioned areas. Degrees in other engineering and science fields with a focus in electronics or signal processing will also be considered
- Our ideal candidate should have job experience and/or training in several of the following areas:
- Advanced math skills and the ability to develop concept from physics principles
- Good communications skills including documentation and report generation
- Radar or communications systems designs – link budget, sensitivity analysis, Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW), and pulse-Doppler processing
- Antenna, phased array, receiver/exciter designs – patterns, receiver chain analysis, waveform design, and filter design
- Digital signal processing – digital filter design, spectrum analysis, statistical signal processing techniques, and Kalman filtering
- Analog signal processing – system response design and characterization
- Embedded real-time software development
- Automotive electronics
- Requirements analysis and development
- Advanced math skills and the ability to develop concept from physics principles
- Good communications skills including documentation and report generation
